Enough of the technical stuff...

I am a third generation KPI, my dad is Keith Pierce and grandfather was Kilby Pollard. My son Kevin Paul is in high school. I have lived in McPherson most of my life but was born in a mission hospital in Beverly, Kentucky. Red Bird Mission it was called. (See a 44K gif of the mountain hospital.) My folks were missionary teachers to the mountain people and ran a small boarding school which is still there called Oakdale Christian School. I almost didn't make it but the doctor started praying when I stopped breathing and I came to without any apparent damage. (Yeah, right! says most of those who know me.)

I attended McPherson High School in Kansas, Central College in McPherson, Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois with graduate work at Wichita State University and a Masters Degree from Kansas State University. Whew!

I am currently the Technology Coordinator for the McPherson Public School District, USD 418. Our district has over 2700 students. My job is to maintain over 1000 computers and train staff to use them. I taught band and vocal music for ten years and then drifted into computers. I got my start from my dad who owned a 16K radio shack model II. I enjoy computing and have done many educational presentations and write software. I present in the areas of Mac Software, CDs, Laserdisk, Scanners, etc.Internet and linking databases with the internet using Filemaker Pro.

I play tuba in the McPherson Community Brass Choir and Brass Quintet.

I am active in my local church, having taugh youth classes (CLC), adult Sunday School classes and serve on three separate occasions for a year at a time as Worship leader.

I'm a Past President of the Kiwanis Club (1993-94) of McPherson and was elected Kiwanian of the Year by them in 1995. I served as club secretary for 5 years. I was in Kiwanis for 17 years with perfect attendance.

My family is most important to me. I have two terrific kids Kevin and Karilyn and one wonderful wife. You can read about them on their pages but I'm very lucky to have them. Kristin and I have been married since 1981. I'm proud of them all. Take time to meet them through their pages.
