Robert Buchanan Ivers
(1840-1918)
Buck, as they called him, was born February 18, 1840 at Jacktown,
Ohio and died December 7, 1918. Buck was 5' 9" tall and was a farmer
who also worked in the flour mills of Adams County, Ohio, as well as
Kansas. He serverd in the Union army and had three front teeth
knocked out during a battle at Headyville, Tenn. He was struck in the
hip by a small cannon ball and thereafter walked with a limp, as the
ball was not removed.
